初めまして、 Withと申します。
Petankoの将棋のページはとても役に立ちます。 お疲れさまでした。

僕の母語は英語ですが、Petankoの英語版はとても自然な英語ですね。
以下の文章の方が自然だと思います。 あまり直すところがありませんでした。

(King)
It is the most important piece in shogi because you will lose the game when your 王 is taken by your opponent; it cannot move very fast, so you need to move it into a safety zone earlier.

(Rook)
It can move freely in any orthogonal direction as long as there is no other pieces in the way. However, it cannot move in diagonal directions.

(Promoted Rook)
It can move not only in orthogonal directions, but also one square in any diagonal direction.

(Bishop)
It can move freely in any diagonal direction as long as there is no other pieces in the way. However, it cannot move in orthogonal directions.

(Horse) can move not only in diagonal directions, but also one square in any orthogonal direction. It is sometimes used in defense.

Now, I'll introduce the minor pieces. All pieces except the 王(king) and major pieces are called "minor pieces."

(Gold General)
It can move one square in four orthogonal directions or one square forward.

(Silver General)
The movement of 銀(silver general)....

(Knight)
The 桂(knight) has unique movements. 桂(knight)
moves to two squares forward, then one square left or right.

(Promoted Knight)
成桂(promoted knight) has the same movements as 金(gold general).

(Lance)
香 can move directly forward as long as there is no other pieces in the way.

(Promoted Lance) 成香(promoted lance) has the same movements as 金(gold general)

(Pawn)
Beginners tend to make light of 歩, but there are many opportunities in which 歩 is useful in large numbers.

と金 has the same movements as 金. Even when a promoted pawn is captured, it comes back only as a pawn in the opponent's hand; therefore a promoted pawn is useful to the owner.
